The Honeymoon

You'll be happy to know that we've decided on a destination!

St. Simon's Island

St. Simon's Island is just a little island off the coast of Georgia, and it looks like it's about 2 hours away from Savannah and somewhere between 2-4 hours away from Atlanta.

We have a friend that's been there before and recommended it to us, and it seems like it will be a lot like TopSail (where Travis proposed).

So we'll fly down there and rent a car. We'll more than likely visit Savannah one day since we've never actually been there, but insist on living there, haha. I mean, it's for school, but still.

So there seems to be a few things to do there that sound fun - ghost tours, a boat casino day cruise, beaches, restaurants, mini-golf, walking trails, canoeing... things like that. Which, honestly, sounds fantastic.

Back in August 2009, we went to Orlando Florida for 4 days just for funzies. My mom was generous enough to let us use the time share and also buy us tickets to a ton of things - in those few days we went to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, saw Cirque Du Soleil, saw the Blue Man Group, went to Medieval Times, and walked the crap out of Downtown Disney. We were exhausted. I don't recall us ever once going swimming. We had a blast, it was a ton of fun, but we just never stopped moving, haha.

So, we're going to try to not repeat that again. If we want to do that many things, we will stay an appropriate length of time to accomplish them at a relaxed pace. And as for the honeymoon...well, there are going to be a lot of things we want to accomplish, luckily we can do them all in the hotel room.

Speaking of which... This is what we are thinking our hotel room will be, mother willing. It's the best room they have and it has a fantastic view! We'd honestly be happy with any room anywhere, but this is our choice if we're capable of having one. The description says,

"The penthouse makes any occasion extraordinary, boasting Saint Simons' most breathtaking view of the famous lighthouse, and the majestic Atlantic Ocean. Complete with full wet bar and wine chiller; 2 large plasma TVs; custom, richly appointed, furnishings; and a wrought-iron Mediterranean terrace ideal for star gazing, and full relaxation. Whether it's your honeymoon, anniversary, or a "just because you're worth it" occasion, the penthouse at The Saint Simons Inn by the Lighthouse offers breathtaking views in an elegant setting."

So yeah, that's our #1 choice, haha.

I'm actually not a huge fan of beaches. I enjoy them, for the most part, especially when I'm with a group of people that I'm friends with. Otherwise, I'm generally pretty self-conscious about how I look in a swimsuit. Which, this particular fact effected me in TopSail in a different way - I'm not use to playing in roaring waves, so I didn't think that a one-piece swimsuit would be the best choice for body-boarding. Well, needless to say, my bottom skirt kept falling down and my top kept being pushed up - which made for an extremely frustrated Brittany.

I'll be bringing a one-piece with me this time, haha. And hopefully will have lost weight.
